Cagrilintide has been studied as monotherapy (by itself) in people with overweight and obesity.
Phase 2 trial (published 2021, once-weekly injection):
In adults with overweight or obesity, cagrilintide produced significant weight loss versus placebo and was generally well tolerated.
Phase 3 REDEFINE-1 trial (late-stage, 68 weeks):
Average weight loss: about 11.8% of body weight with cagrilintide vs 2.3% with placebo over 68 weeks.
Roughly 1 in 3 participants on cagrilintide achieved ≥15% weight loss, compared with a small minority on placebo.

In adults with type 2 diabetes, CagriSema also led to substantial weight loss (~15–16%) and improved glycemic control versus comparators.
These data are driving ongoing development and planned regulatory submissions for the combination therapy.
